Joining the two industry leaders to cut the ribbon at today's ceremony were the Secretary for Economic Services, Mr Steven Ip, guest of honour of the event and the TDC's deputy executive director, Mr Frederick Lam; the chairman of The Hong Kong & Kowloon Photographic Merchants Association, Mr Dennis Sun; and Miss Hong Kong 1996, Miss Lee San San.With 70 companies taking up 12,000 square metres of exhibition space, this year's fair is bigger and more international than ever. The show features the latest in audio-visual technology as demonstrated in DVD and related equipment, APS (advanced photo system) cameras, high-end hi-fi and TV systems, home theatre systems, multi-media equipment and internet services.Audition and demonstration rooms have been set up to provide the best acoustic conditions for visitors to test audio and visual products.During the five-day fair, the organisers have already arranged a strong line-up of activities for the anticipated 200,000 visitors. These include performance at the "Photo Studio", antique camera show, photo display and special seminars.For amateur or professional photographers alike, the "International Audio & Visual Show Photo Competition" is a not-to-be missed highlight of the event. Jointly organised by the TDC and the Photographic Society of Hong Kong, all participants are invited to capture the memorable moment at the fairground.
